This is Day 60 of the Positive 100, a countdown to Rare Disease Day 2014 and an exercise in being positive despite it all.
Creating and innovating is part of the human condition. We can be creative in everything from the arts to theoretical physics. You can be creative in the kitchen or in how you organize your files. Being creative is a way to cope with emotions, good and bad. Creating can give you a sense of purpose.
I use my creativity often to deal with emotions. Like when I got my heart broken and I spent time in the kitchen. Or when I was hospitalized in college and couldn’t do much so I just kept knitting. In high school, I painted because it made my world make sense.
Creating has given me purpose. And made life a little more delicious.
