This is Day 64 of the Positive 100, a countdown to Rare Disease Day 2014 and an exercise in being positive despite it all.
There are so very many kinds of freedom. There are the political and religious freedoms that this country was found upon. There is freedom from regret and second guesses. There is freedom to create and the freedom that you feel as you step into a city bursting with energy. There is the freedom that the truth will give you and freedom from fear.
These freedoms need to be celebrated.
At the start of this project, I decided that I was claiming freedom from the disease that had started to take over my life. I was fighting back against they tyranny of chronic pain. It’s been a long battle, and there isn’t an end in sight.
But any freedom is worth fighting for. And one day, I will be free of this.
