This is Day 94 of the Positive 100, a countdown to Rare Disease Day 2014 and an exercise in being positive despite it all.
Athletes use focus as a tool in competition. They focus on a goal and push towards it. In yoga, they have you focus on your breathing to center yourself and quiet the distractions. Focusing on a thought can guide meditation. Prayers are a type of focus. So is visualization.
Focus. Focus. Focus. I tend to repeat that over and over to myself when I have to work through the pain.
Focusing is how I manage to work with CRPS. How I can find the ability to knit, cook and write through days when the pain is trying to reduce me to mush. It is how I fight through life.
I am focused on living a normal, full life. Every day that gets hard, I focus on somethign smaller. Knitting a hat. Baking cupcakes. Drawing in a sketchbook.
